Design
Starting with the design, the Vivo U10 looks very familiar with some of the latest offers from this product, thanks to the polycarbonate back display with a glossy gradient edge on top. It is fully available in both color options including Electric Blue and Thunder Black.
The Electric Blue variation we have here gets a blue hue on the back with glittering patterns that glow down the line. This gives the premium appeal to the device but be aware that it is a magnetic fingerprint and is fast-acting.
Scrolling the phone forward, we found a drop-off indicator with well-broken bezels in the section. Now, the phone feels heavy due to the large battery, but it is hard to hold and feels tight in the hands. And while it looks like the Vivo Z1 Pro in beauty, don’t expect it to give a premium glass feel back.
Ports and placement
Speaking of placement, the phone gets the power button and rocker rockers on the right followed by the SIM + microSD card slot on the left. The bottom of the phone includes a speaker grill, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, microphone and micro USB port. While, the front camera is provided under the ear clip above. At the back, we have triple cameras and an LED flash, accompanied by a squircle-shaped fingerprint scanner and Vivo branding below.
Display
The Vivo U10 comes with a 6.35-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD + resolution of 720 x 1544 pixels, and a pixel density of 264PPI. There’s a watering note on top, and like any other budget phone, this one also has a thick chin at the bottom.
The screen itself looks very lively, has excellent viewing angles, and is bright enough for almost all lighting conditions, including direct sunlight outside. Anyway, it's an HD + panel at the end of the day so it won't impress pixel lovers.
Needless to say, the phone comes with Widevine L1 certification and is ready to enjoy HD content on streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
Battery
Performance
To enable the phone octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 AIE SoC 11-nm based processor clocked in at 2.0GHz. It is also integrated with the Adreno 610 GPU, up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
In terms of performance, the phone works extremely well in everyday activities, including web browsing, watching videos, playing casual games and using social media. Also, the UI feels enhanced with the right amount of response to the offer.
However, FunTouch OS is undoubtedly a complex UI with loaded features. Following that, the phone is often lazy when trying to perform many heavy tasks, at least in the 3GB of RAM we have here.
Help in the game, play both Call of Duty and PUBG Mobile in the middle graphics settings, and run without problems or anything. Other than that, the phone temperature was kept well controlled, and we didn't see any overheating problems. However, if you are a hardcore player, then we would suggest spending a lot of money on phones with at least Snapdragon 710.
Software
Prior to the software, the Vivo U10 runs on the company's custom FunTouch OS 9, based on Android 9 Pie. Now, FunTouch is similar to iOS in many areas and comes with a host of pre-loaded bloatware including the Vivo app store, Vivo Browser, EasyShare file sharing tool, followed by third-party apps such as UC Browser, Amazon, i -NewsPoint, WPS Office, PhonePe , and more.
Other than that, the UI has a slightly different navigation pattern - the quick setup settings typically found in the notification window on some phones, require a pull up from the bottom of the screen. And the notification panel itself is very corrupt. In addition, the Vivo uses an old-fashioned style of Android navigation buttons that can be a mirror for many. Thankfully, it gets the full touch screen option, but again, it's not perfect.
That being said, there are some useful features to customize including a built-in engine, a screen recorder, a wide program mode, and an AI-based Jovi assistant. There is also a game-assisted game called Game Cube that blocks calls, in addition to allowing you to enable 4D vibrations with an enhanced sense of play.
Cameras
The Vivo U10 has three AI sets in the rear, featuring a 13MP main sensor, an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel portrait sensor. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel sensor on the front, equipped with a water-based notch. The Vivo camera app offers many features such as AI quality, pre-loaded filters, HDR, Portrait Bokeh, and wide angle mode but fails to impress when it comes to temperature.
Now, daytime photos have many details with a decent enough distance. While, those who are shot in low light have a lot of noise coming in. The wide-angle camera, on the other hand, captures respect when it comes to a wide range of detail and detail. Then again, it does the job well and offers a whole new perspective while clicking on the images.
he selfie camera works exactly as expected, thanks to software enhancements made by Vivo. However, quality starts to deteriorate as you enter the house or in well-lit environments. There is also a stand-alone mode as well, but the edge detection takes a beating from time to time. All in all, the Vivo U10 has standard cameras - not impressive or ugly.
Price and our perspective
The Vivo has introduced the U10 in three variants. 3GB RAM + 32GB storage is priced at Rs 8,990, 3GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at Rs 9,990 and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at Rs 10,990. When you look at the price, it seems to be the best smartphone.
The company has offered a triple rear camera on it, but its megapixel is quite low, but some phone items are expensive. In that case, your budget is limited when you can go with this phone.
